Guns in America

Hi everyone! What is my opinion about guns after watching the movie? Honestly it is hard to say. If I would have to decide either people should carry guns or not I would probably be against it. I live in a country where guns are not allowed. There is no way to buy a gun. And I don't feel like my rights or freedom are taken away from me. I feel safe in my country. The gun violence is not a big problem in Poland. Of course there are gang members, especially drug dealers who illegally own a gun but that crime activity doesn't really affect people. The situation in the U.S is completely different. Although I live in Chicago and I am aware that the city has very high gun violence rate I feel quite safe here. I know what parts of Chicago are dangerous so I avoid to go there.
I would never own a gun. You can say it is for protection. Well, if somebody want to rob me, take what you want. I don't care about things or money. If I were attacked on the street I wouldn't probably have a time to pull a gun. Besides there is so many accidents, while cleaning guns, kids may play with it, or somebody can steal it from you. All those massacres that happened in high schools or movie theater were made by people who had easy access to guns. The truth is, because the guns are allowed in the U.S. more people use them for the wrong reason. On the other hand I understand the fact that it is for protection. There are plenty of people who protected themselves and family members from robbery. Besides rights to own a gun is very deep in American culture and it would be very hard to change it.

The place where I would like to live

Whenever I am asked where I would like to live, it is not a city that comes to my mind. It is always the atmosphere of the place I imagine. I love all the seasons. I couldn't live in the place without winter, or summer. There are days when I think I don't want the winter anymore and I wish I could live in Florida! But on the other hand how I could imagine Christmas time without hats, scarfs and mittens?
What matters to me the most is that I am surrounded by people I love and who love me. I can see myself happy in the future with my husband and children. That's the happy place I want to create and I want to live in. I want to wake up late on Saturday, stay in bed until 11am watching shows with my kids. Then my husband, kids and I go for a walk with our dog to buy ice-creams and play in the park. It is the place I hope for.

Hi everyone once again! I didn't update my blog two weeks ago, so I would like to write something now. How did my life change during the last five years? It changed. A lot! Five years ago I was studying accounting. I knew this is what I want to do in the future. I am very focused, I like to work with numbers and I enjoyed everything I learnt. It didn't change. I still want to work as an accountant, follow my master degree and be successful in that field. However I want to do it in United States. Five years ago I didn't even think of coming to the United States. I had a vision of my future in Poland. Now I cannot imagine to move back to my country. I think I have a chance to find a better job here than back home. Besides five years ago I didn't really think about my future. I knew what I want to work as but I was focused on the moment, not on the future. I wanted to pass the exam and after that go to the party with my friends. Well, I had a lot of fun then. I always smile when it comes to my mind. Right now I am focused on my future. I am engaged and I plan to have a family soon. I know that I want to live in Chicago. But the most important change in my life is the fact that I grew up a lot as a person. I changed. I gained more independence, courage and self-esteem. And I am happy about my life. That's the most important.
Hello everyone. Today I am going to write about the reasons of coming to the United States.
During the last year of the university I started looking for a job. Nothing permanent. I just wanted to gain some experience and save money for the summer. I knew I want to follow master degree so I couldn't take any full time job. While looking for something part time I was curios what are the requirements for a good, full time job. Well, as I expected fluent English was a must for most of them. My English skills were terrible. I didn't feel comfortable speaking, I had problems understanding and I couldn't write even one paragraph in English. Somehow I found a brochure about the Au Pair program and decided to take a chance. I went to the meeting with a representative of the agency. I knew they only say the good parts of the program- always advantages. Even though I fell in love with it. I left the meeting and knew I need to try. I didn't have anything to lose. I could start master degree year later and spend a year in the U.S.
I carefully researched the agency, peoples opinions and experiences. Everything seemed very safe, so I just needed to convince my parents to let me go. Honestly, I just needed to fill out the application and the agency took care of everything. I didn't even notice when my trip was set up. Thanks to that, today I am here, in Chicago. I have a wonderful time here and probably will never regret that decision!

My cooking experience

Hi everyone. I am very happy to be part of that blog. Today I would like to share my latest cooking experience. I have never cooked a lot in my life, I used to eat some frozen food or make a sandwich or a salad. Since I moved with my fiancĂ© and I am planning to have a family soon, I have decided to improve my cooking skills. I bought a crock pot and made some great soups recently. Encouraged by that experience and my fiancĂ© I decided to make something more complicated- baked beans. I found a simple recipe online and went to store to buy all the ingredients- white beans, tomato paste and sausage. I was really happy to see that they have polish sausage. It really didn't seem to me to look like a polish sausage but I took a risk and bought 1 pound. When I got home I started cooking beans and chopping onions. Then I reached for the sausage and I realized that it was raw meat. Unbelievable! How didn't I noticed it at the store? So I panicked because I have no idea how to bake, or cook, or make this sausage work. I just put it on a pan and fried it with onions, and followed the rest of the recipe as I should. It smelled really good. Unfortunately it didn't taste good and I know- everything because of this sausage. In the end Mauricio said he never wants to eat this dish for the rest of his life. Well, I think I am going back to sandwiches and salads for a while...
